Flexing the most important manifestation muscle
Any time I speak with someone about manifestation or prayer or spellwork.. the same issue seems top of mind. It's not the details of tools or method.. it's the thing that is most difficult to cultivate. Trust. This includes trust in self, trust in Spirit and trust in timing. All of these are innate in within us. And yet, we unlearn this most powerful skill over time and trauma. But if you can reengage this skill. Using it more and more often.. suddenly you find yourself easing into all kinds of possible choices and manifestations. Like starting a new workout program, you will feel a bit wobbly at first. (Since when did 20 lbs feel so heavy??) But keep it up! Trust lives in you.. you just have to learn to access it again and simply.. well, trust.

Let's get to brass tacks about this too. Our brains really love to talk us out of our trust factor. That pesky brain really wants to protect you. It categorizes, files and remembers all the times you were hurt/disappointed/fill in the awful expereince here. Then it will do everything it can to warn you about all the ways you fucked up before. Or that you didn't fuck up but it could have. Or .. or.. or.. but this is the very thing we need to override when it comes to flexing the trust muscle. Our brain are awesome by the way. Need to read a contract? That's brain stuff. Do math? That's also brain stuff. Follow a baking recipe.. yup, also brain stuff. But for much of prayer, spellwork or just things you want to do intuitively; you need to let your brain go a little. And your brain will be a noisy factor. Here's a good example of me letting go of my brain and simply trusting my pendulum/intuition.
Every time I get ready for an event where I read tarot.. I go through the same process. I have a box that carries all my goodies which gets pulled out and repacked each time. I smoke cleanse the box, all my cards and make sure all my 'signage' is up to date and the QR codes are working for payment. Then I pull out my usual table subjects.. my smudge spray for between readings. My hand sanitizer. My "force field" flower essence to create boundary. Then it get magical! Out comes the pendulum so I can start choosing which crystals want to join me on the table. These stones are often a good preview of what types of readings will be showing up. (Amethyst? I'll likely see a lot about anxiety and stress. Tourmanline? Hmm, boundary work for many of the folks in line. Sodalite? Lot of questions around money or business stuff. ) So, I just ask.. who wants to join me at this event? And I get led around the apothecary by my swinging pendulum and usually pick up a few stones that want to come along for the ride. Then I grab an aromatherapy rollerball that I use to help open up the channel and help me choose the right words, etc. while I'm at the table. Easy peasy, right?
Well, this past event I threw in a rollerball without thinking. One of my usual rotation. But when I did my final pendulum ask over the box, "is this box complete and ready to go?" I got a decided 'no'. Well shit. Now what? So, I start touching everything in the box.. waiting for the pendulum to swing 'no'.... as in, not ready or wrong thing. And the roller ball was the culprit. I go and grab my other rollers to see if one of them wanted to go instead. Nope. Gotta make something new. I went into my usual position. On the floor with my aromatherapy drawer open and starting my process. Touching each bottle, waiting for the 'yes' swing to alert me to what wants to go into the bottle. Ok.. lime.. weird. And .. cardamom? More weird. These make no sense to me. And, frankly, on paper.. sound like they will smell awful together. Lime, I guess, has some protection properties so, maybe? But the cardamom usually has magical uses for love and lust spells.. but should I see this as heart opening for me instead? Not sure. But guess what. Despite the fact my brain doesn't get it. And the scent isn't terrible.. I'm going to go with it. I'm not going to let my mind overshadow what my pendulum suggested. I asked.. Spirit guided. I don't have to 'get it' or make it work in my brain. I have to trust that Spirit is creating the exact thing I need. And time will tell. At the event I'll realize why this combo came together.
And update! Yes.. this combo was exactly what was needed. The majority of readings were around following instincts and what their hearts wanted to pursue (cardamom coming through as messenger) rather than the brain. And most of the people didn't feel particularly supported or safe to make these moves (protective lime creating safety). See?? It DID make sense after all.
This sort of letting go and trusting the ask is what I'm talking about. My brain could certainly go into reference mode and find the right scents for divination or opening the upper chakras.. but I won't. I asked my pendulum and I've found that trusting the pendulum always works. (Of course, you will choose your particular tool, instinctual 'hit' or 'tell') Whether I pick your essences each month for a subscription or choose an herbal blend for what I need most this month.. it's not wrong. I simply let myself release the need to control these little things. And it helps when it comes to all spellwork and manifestation. Trusting the pendulum means I can do a spell and let go of the result for now. I trust that Spirit has a time/place/method to bring things my way. It might not be the way I would choose or prefer.. and I'll certainly complain along the way (ha!) but sometimes the more we try to manhandle things into submission. The more we get in the way. So, do your prayer and then... back away. Don't try to make it happen. Let it happen. Trust Spirit. Trust Time. Trust yourself.
